Sunny Ho is running for Richmond city council in the May 29 byelection.

Business owner Sunny Ho, who ran unsuccesfully in the 2014 and 2018 municipal elections, is taking another run at securing a seat on Richmond city council in the May 29 byelection.

He is one of three candidates who have filed their paperwork in the civic by-election to replace Kelly Greene.

Ho is the owner of Kam Do Bakery and developer of Anderson Square, a residential development on Buswell Street in City Centre.

In his profile on the city’s election webpage, Ho advocates for more police and city staff as well as 30,000 affordable housing units in four years.

Ho also states as his goals “Richmond National University” and dental and Chinese medicine care for seniors.

Two other candidates have filed their paperwork: Karina Reid, running as the RITE candidate, and Andy Hobbs.

John Roston has filed his paperwork with the city still reviewing the documents.

Ken Hamaguchi has also declared his intention to run but had not filed his paperwork as of Thursday morning.

Nominations close at 4 p.m. Friday, April 23.
