Bait bike snatched within minutes in Richmond

A man who allegedly made off with a bait bicycle at Richmond Centre was arrested by Richmond RCMP a few blocks away on Lansdowne Road. RCMP had placed the bait bike near Richmond Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and seven minutes later, the bike was gone.

A man who allegedly made off with a bait bicycle at Richmond Centre was arrested by Richmond RCMP a few blocks away on Lansdowne Road.

RCMP had placed the bait bike near Richmond Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and seven minutes later, the bike was gone.

Officers were able to catch the suspect and bike near Lansdowne and Arcadia roads, where he was arrested without incident.

The suspect was also allegedly in possession of tools, contrary to a release order that stemmed from a previous arrest in Burnaby.

The 20-year-old suspect, Warren Mark Spence, was also found to be the subject of two outstanding warrants, one from Burnaby and one from Surrey.

He faces charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
