The Steveston Folk Guild presents folk/jazz/ country singer Karen Kelm on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7: 30 p.m. in the Chinese Bunkhouse at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard, 5180 Westwater Dr. in Steveston. Alzheimer's affects 42 per cent of the population over 85 years old. Nurse Next Door - Richmond presents a free information session about its innovative Cognitive Care Program for seniors, their families and caregivers to learn more about how this program can increase quality of life for those with Alzheimer's or dementia. The session takes place on Friday, Aug. 19 from 10 to 11 a.m. at #120-12000 First Ave. in Steveston. Everyone is welcome but RSVP at 604-644-9157.
