Preparations for the annual Steveston Salmon Festival is well underway, and the organizers are looking for more people to join in on the fun.
Anyone who wishes to take part in this year's parade on their own whimsically-decorated floats can now submit an application form from now until May 31.
The maximum number of participants in each entry is limited to 50 people and elected officials are limited to a maximum of 10 support people.
Selection of applications depends on effort in designs, decorations and "entertainment towards the theme" of the festival.
Most importantly, it's "about community," reads the application form.
The parade is one of the biggest highlights of the annual Canada Day celebration, which draws hundreds and thousands into Steveston Village. This year, the Salmon Festival is celebrating its 76th anniversary.
