Alleged human trafficker to appear in Richmond court

One person faces three charges related to human trafficking.

Three charges have been laid against one individual related to human trafficking.

A man has been charged in Richmond Provincial Court with three counts related to human trafficking.

The first charge against Teck Voon Loh is for recruiting, holding, concealing or exercising control over a person “for the purpose of exploiting them or facilitating their exploitation.”

The second charge is for receiving a “financial or other material benefit” that was “derived directly or indirectly from the commission of an offence.”  

The third charge is for benefitting from communicating for sexual services.

The offences allegedly took place in Richmond and Vancouver between January and December 2020.

The charges were laid in March 2025.

Loh is expected back in Richmond Provincial Court on Sept. 23.
