The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) reported there are 397 cases of COVID-19 in Richmond.

This is up from 362 last week, an increase of 35 cases across the city.

Exposure to COVID-19 has been reported in Richmond schools, for example, at Palmer secondary and Walter Lee elementary.

However, Richmond School District’s superintendent, Scott Robinson, said this week there have been no person-to-person transmissions of the virus yet in schools.

Numbers of COVID-19 cases continue to climb across the province.

B.C.’s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, reported on Thursday 234 new cases over the prior 24-hour period with 86 in hospital and, of those, 24 in intensive care. The majority of these cases, however, are in the Fraser Health region.

Richmondites can get tested for COVID-19 at the Richmond Assessment Centre, at 6820 Gilbert Rd.
