Traffic numbers through YVR continue to rise, according to figures for the first half of 2016. YVR Airport Authority reported growth in all passenger sectors.
In the first six months of this year, the airport welcomed 10.5 million passengers, up 8.1 per cent over the same period in 2015. The increases showed a 13.7 per cent increase in international traffic, a 7.6 per cent jump in domestic passengers and an 8.8 per cent rise in transborder (Canada-U.S.) passengers.
Expectations are the upward trend will put YVR on track to eclipse overall 2015 passenger totals by year end.
