Vancouver International Airport's (YVR) annual holiday hamper drive is returning for the 13th year next week.
On Wednesday, Dec. 6, community members can help out families in need by filling a hamper bag with a full holiday meal at YVR's Quest Pop Up Market.
To participate, community members simply need to pop by the Spirit of Haida Gwaii: The Jade Canoe on Level 3 of YVR's International Departures terminal and collect a YVR-branded reusable grocery bag.
They can then enter the pop-up market, fill the bags with hamper items from the shelves and drop their hamper bags off after making a donation at check out. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
The event is held in partnership with Quest Outreach Society and YVR is aiming to fill 1,500 hampers. Almost 95,000 holiday meals have been donated to local families through the hamper drive since 2011.
Those unable to attend in person or would like to make a donation in advance can donate online. A total of $11,408.79 has been donated so far.
