Passengers passing through Vancouver International Airport (YVR) will now be able to do a bit more shopping inside the terminal buildings. Last week, the airport authority cut the ribbon on four new retail stores — Lolë, Brooks Brothers, Coastal News and Sea to Sky Marketplace — which are accessible to passengers who have cleared the security checks and are on their way to the departure gates. YVR already has more than 170 shops, services and restaurants located before and after security, providing shopping opportunities to travellers and the local community alike.

YVR also partnered with European-based McArthurGlen in the summer of 2015 to open 60-plus store, 240,000-square-foot designer brand name, outlet mall adjacent to the airport’s terminals on Sea Island. “YVR is always looking to provide exceptional customer experiences and a big part of that is offering an engaging and diverse retail options,” said Scott Norris, YVR’s vice president, commercial development. “We know that for many passengers their trip starts right here at YVR and we hope these new offerings will give them a reason to arrive earlier and get their shopping done prior to flying out.”
