Saltworks wins BC Export Award

Five Richmond companies made it to the finalists this year

Richmond’s Saltworks Technologies took home the Clean Technology of BC Export Award — an award that recognizes businesses’ dedication to pushing into new global markets.

Saltworks is the only Richmond company to receive the award. Other Richmond firms that made it to the finalists are Layfield Group, Applied Biological Materials Inc., Herbaland Naturals Inc. and bioLytical Laboratories.

Eight other companies set themselves apart from 24 finalists in a diverse set of categories, including Natural Resources, Consumer Products, Manufactured Products, Advancing Technology and Innovation and Professional Services.

The BC Export Awards are one of the province’s most prestigious awards paying tribute to the success and innovative approaches of B.C. export companies. Conceived in 1982, the program has recognized more than 300 companies.

Joshua Zoshi, COO of Saltworks Technologies, received the award, remarking that, “we would like to thank the province for recognizing the achievements of our team of innovators and builders, and we look forward to continuing to drive business that creates jobs and encourages economic development in BC.”
