A Richmond business owner was awarded the Best Woman-Owned Business Award by the Black Business Association of BC (BBABC).

La Toya Barrington, who owns and operates Go2Girl Services, was named the winner at an awards ceremony at a Vancouver hotel on Sept. 9.

The award is presented to a Black woman entrepreneur who excels in her business and sets an example for the next generation, according to the BBABC website.

Barrington said was in shock and felt honoured to have received the award as there were “many amazing and very deserving women” in her category.

“I hope to empower and give inspiration to young girls, paving a bright, diverse, and inclusive path toward their dreams and aspirations,” said Barrington.
