E-bike and e-scooter users can now support young people in Metro Vancouver by rounding up the cost of their rides.

Lime users in Richmond, Coquitlam and North Shore who opt-in to round up the costs will see the difference donated to Covenant House Vancouver, Western Canada's largest non-profit serving vulnerable youth.

Covenant House was announced on Wednesday as the Lime Hero fundraising program's second Canadian participant, with the first being Kelowna's Third Space Charity.

“At Covenant House Vancouver we want to share our immense gratitude for the opportunity to partner with Lime Hero and for every Lime rider’s support in our mission to support vulnerable youth on the path to preventing and ending youth homelessness.” said Tracy Brown, Covenant House spokesperson.

Services offered by Covenant House include whole-person care, housing, drop-in and outreach and health and wellness support.

According to Lime, the Lime Hero program is available in more than 10 countries across the world and $380,000 has been raised so far in support of causes including "clean air, safe streets, youth and community programming and services for those experiencing homelessness."

To join the program, users can tap the "Donate" button on the Lime app menu. The cost of each trip will be rounded up to the nearest dollar and the difference will be donated.
