In a bid to help YVR achieve its goal of handling 25 million air travelers annually by 2025, an improved line of self-serve border control kiosks is being introduced this spring. YVR will roll out 90 new PIK-configured (Primary Inspection Kiosk) BorderXpress kiosk, extending the automated border clearance process to the majority of incoming international travelers. Passengers will scan their travel documents, complete their declaration and verify their identity and admissibility using facial recognition technology before proceeding to a Canada Border Service Agency’s (CBSA) officer for final inspection.
