Following the sell-out success of its first electric bicycle, Shocke Bikes is rolling out a pair of new models based on feedback from clients. Run by a group of local, young entrepreneurs, Shocke Bikes is introducing the Surge and Ampere. The Surge ($1,249) is billed as a high-performance, narrow-tired, city street version, while the Ampere ($1,049) is described at a step-through, Dutch rider more suited for older. Both are powered by 350 Watt electric motors, have a range of about 70 km and will be available through a kickstarter-like fundraising website called Indiegogo.com. Shocke Bikes spokesman Steven Lo said when their first product, sold out after just three months on the market, they collected feedback from customers asking what features and styles they would like to see in future models.
