Boston Pizza to go high-tech

In a bid to retain and improve on its share of diners, Richmond-headquartered Boston Pizza is bringing more tech to its new restaurants that are being targeted for urban areas. In a pilot project, unveiled at one of its Toronto locations earlier this spring, the improvements are designed to elevate customer experience and improve speed of service and efficiency. Among the new, high-tech systems will include:

• Pay-at-Table, which will allow guests to check in with the MyBP app and pay their bill on their mobile device without waiting for the server to bring their cheque.

• DineTime app will allow you to view wait times at all Boston Pizza locations near you, get on waiting lists or book reservations.

• Courtesy phone charging outlets with USB ports located at tables and bars throughout the restaurant.

Other new changes will be a specially designated team room, which can accommodate private parties and sports teams or can function as an extension of the main restaurant. No word on where in the Lower Mainland any new Boston Pizza restaurants with those new features will be located.
