Richmond World Festival: Saturday Sept. 3:

There’s no need to lament the conclusion of the summer holidays — you can give it a great send off with a huge party on Saturday during the Richmond World Festival at Minoru Park.

The free, day-long celebration of music, food and culture, Richmond World Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The festival features more than 60 music and dance performances on nine stages, an international food truck festival with 40-plus food trucks, celebrity chefs on the Culinary Stage, the Global Village with interactive cultural activities and performances, Your Kontinent Digital Carnival, Kids World, Artisan Marketplace, Wide World of Sports and more.

The entertainment heats up as the sun goes down. Reigning Juno Group of the Year Award winners and international YouTube sensations Walk Off The Earth will headline the Richmond World Festival. Delhi 2 Dublin will also bring their popular cross-culture fusion of Celtic, Bhangra and other world beats to the main stage.

Walk Richmond: Saturday Sept. 3:

Follow the Fraser River on this Walk Richmond exploration of the Middle Arm Dyke on Sept. 3 from 10 – 11 a.m. and pass by the Richmond Olympic Oval where you can witness spectacular views of the North Shore Mountains. Meeting spot: Playground at Dover Park, 5855 Dover Crescent (across from the Richmond Works Yard). 

Steveston market: Sunday Sept. 4:

Steveston is the place to be Sept. 4 as the Steveston Farmers & Artisans Market takes to the Steveston Community Centre parking lot (4111 Moncton Street) from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m .This popular annual summer market is a venue where local farmers, artists and craftsperson’s make their products available to the public. The market runs on selected Sundays until Oct. 16.
