The annual Sunshine Nation pageant, run by Fairchild Radio, saw two Richmond girls emerge as winners.
After an entertaining finale at the Michael J. Fox Theatre in Burnaby last week, eight girls battled it out to be the new Sunshine Girlz champion.
And, while 17-year-old Michelle Tse, of Burnaby, won the title, the Talent Award and the People’s Choice Award both went to Carmen Cheung, a Richmond 17-year- old.
Meanwhile, the Charisma Award was presented to 18-year-old Suani Rincon, another Richmond resident.
All eight finalists of the Sunshine Nation contest were interviewed by Comic Productions/Meteor Garden Production, the creator of some of the most popular youth-oriented dramas on television in Asia.
In addition to being on the cover of a national magazine in October, the winners received cash scholarships, travel coupons, an Apple Watch and other valuable prizes.
