Richmond's Public Art Program is looking for artists to showcase on No. 3 Road art columns from 2023 to 2024.

The artwork will be displayed on the columns through two exhibitions, one from Feb. 1 to Jul. 31, 2023 and one from Aug. 1, 2023 to Jan. 31, 2024.

Six artists will be commissioned, each receiving a fee of $1,500 for four print-ready digital artwork files. The city will bear the costs of printing and installation.

Artists must be residing or working in Richmond. Those with practices in mediums suitable for digital reproduction, such as mixed-media, painting, illustration, photography, printmaking and drawing are encouraged to apply.

The submission must include a completed information form, a 300 words maximum artwork statement, four low-resolution digital images of proposed artworks and a two pages maximum CV. Artists will be selected by a three-person panel consisting of professional artists, art professionals and community members.

The application deadline is Monday, Nov. 7 and artists will be notified on Wednesday, Nov. 16. For more information and to apply, check out the city's Artist Call. Information on current and past exhibits can also be found here.
