Applications open for Richmond Neighbourhood Celebration Grant

Richmond groups with creative ideas to bring communities and neighbourhoods together are encouraged to apply for one of the city’s grant programs.

The Richmond Neighbourhood Celebration Grant is providing funding up to $2,000 to support neighbourhood groups, not-for-profit organizations, local artists, parent advisory committees, community associations and student councils in creating community events and initiatives that connect residents of diverse backgrounds together.

Examples of events that are eligible for funding include neighbourhood block parties, community picnics and cultural celebrations.

This year’s grant applications are for event and shared experiences to be planned between Jun. 1 and Dec. 31.

To apply, applicants must be from Richmond and the events must be held in Richmond.

The event proposals must be inclusive and demonstrates engagement of community members, commitment to incorporating sustainability initiatives, and have a realistic budget and resource list.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, Feb. 26.
