Uber Eats will be offering alcohol delivery in Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby and New Westminster through its Uber Eats app starting at noon today.

“Uber is excited to now offer local craft beer, B.C. wine, and selection from around the world to pair with your Uber Eats delivery,” says Dan Park, general manager of Uber Eats Canada in a news release.

Customers will need to present two pieces of valid ID to the delivery person proving they are 19 years of age or older and alcohol delivery is available from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.

If a person does not have valid ID their alcohol order will be returned to the store and the customer will be charged a $10 cancellation fee.

The app also has a built in limit to the amount of alcohol a person can order.

“We are excited to offer our customers top quality beer that is delivered responsibly thanks to our partnership with Uber Eats,” says Marissa Mills, marketing manager at Parallel 49 Brewing.

The company says it will expand its alcohol delivery service across the rest of Metro Vancouver and into Victoria, Esquimalt and Saanich in the coming weeks.
