There have been a few changes at La Petite Cuillere in Mount Pleasant, including new ownership and a bit of an interior refresh, and now the cozy tea house has added a new daily brunch service.

Of course, they don’t just simply do brunch; every dish features components that showcase tea flavours and infusions. Chef Frankie Cannata-Bowman, who came to Vancouver by way of Seattle and worked for esteemed restaurateurs like Tom Douglas, is passionate about tea, and LPC owner Cathy Lai has given her the perfect ingredients to express her talents.

Dishes include a Smoked Salmon Hash topped with a creamy tea-smoked egg, Chai Tea French Toast, and a gluten-free chocolate buckwheat waffle accented with Earl Grey Butter. A Croque Madame uses Darjeeling tea to accent the decadent sandwich’s bechamel sauce, and is the menu’s Mealshare item, which means indulging in this dish can actually help a great cause.

The tea infusions are carried into the tea menu, as well, along with the restaurant’s philosophy of having something for everyone to eat–including those who follow a vegan or gluten-free diet. In fact, they can do an entire gluten-free tea service that doesn’t miss a beat with its finger sandwiches, sweet treats, and more.

Brunch is served daily from 10 am to 2:30 pm, during which time tea service is also available. Relax in one of their eye-catching oversized cozy chairs with a friend or family member, or keep the venue in mind for a fun group outing to celebrate anything from a birthday to a baby shower.

La Petite Cuillere is located at 55 Kingsway Street in Vancouver.
