This weekend, Richmond-based Fuggles and Warlock brewery is taking its love of IPAs to a whole new, galactic level.

On Saturday, Aug. 18 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at its inaugural “Hop Strikes Back” event, Fuggles and Warlock (along with 13 of its closest brewery friends) will present a sampling of more than 28 different IPAs.

"We wanted to do something in our back parking lot to showcase our brewery. Really, no one has done a festival like this at their brewery...so I just thought we'd give it a try," Glen Hutton, owner of Fuggles and Warlock, told the Richmond News. "It'll be a fun event."

Tickets are $45 plus fees and include unlimited four ounce sample pours, a branded tasting glass and access to food trucks.

"It's no tickets, it's no tokens, once you're in you're in. You can try as many beers as you want," said Hutton.

Participating breweries include:

  • Backcountry Brewing
  • Beere Brewing Company
  • Boombox Brewing Company
  • Britannia Brewing Company & Britannia Steveston
  • Central City Brewers + Distillers
  • Lighthouse Brewing Company
  • Luppolo Brewing Company
  • Moody Ales
  • Parallel 49 Brewing Company
  • Steel & Oak Brewing Co.
  • Strange Fellows Brewing
  • Twin Sails Brewing
  • Yellow Dog Brewing

A free shuttle will run from Lansdowne Canada Line Station from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Designated drivers can get a discounted, $10 ticket to the festival. Tickets will not be sold on site, but are available through Eventbrite.
