The 2nd Annual Steveston Cares Walk to Rebuild the Lives of Onagawa's Children took place on Sunday at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Museum. Through pledges, pancake and popcorn sales, and the simple generosity of bystanders, money raised will be going to help rebuild schools for Steveston's adopted Japanese village of Onagawa which was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami a couple of years ago. From 10:00AM to 2:00PM walkers hourly strolled the 1km from the museum to the Fishermen's Memorial and back. Before the walk even began there was already $13,500 collected.Chung Chow photos
