Live out your Mario Kart dreams when Mushroom Racing comes to Vancouver

There are deadly mushrooms to be found in Vancouver, and then there are the most fun kind of mushrooms. No, not those mushrooms. We’re talking Mushroom Racing, aka real-life (unaffiliated with Nintendo) Mario Kart-inspired go-kart racing.

There are deadly mushrooms to be found in Vancouver, and then there are the most fun kind of mushrooms. No, not those mushrooms. We’re talking Mushroom Racing, aka real-life (unaffiliated with Nintendo) Mario Kart-inspired go-kart racing.

It’s basically being described by organizers as what you would imagine: Go Kart racing with a Mario Kart-themed twist. The event has been running in Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane.

We first heard about this wild race adventure event earlier this year, when the Australian company behind Mushroom Racing announced plans to have Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, and pals hit the track in the summertime.

Much like their other events (Wizards Brunch, Ball Pit Party), Mushroom Racing met with some logistical stalls, but now has a date in sight. Mushroom Racing will take place in Vancouver at a secret location on Feb. 24, 2019.

Tickets are on sale right now for the event, which include costumes, racing, and a game room for hanging out. It’s not a street race, caution organizers, and while there is no age restriction, you do have to be at least 5’1″ to race.
