The News asked people at Garry Point Park to share their reflections on the wonderful cherry blossoms.

Yang Hong:

"It reminds me that spring or summer is coming. It kind of gives me more energy. I can start enjoying more outdoor events. In winter, you can go out, but now the weather becomes warmer and you have more choice. It’s beautiful, especially for my girlfriend, she loves flowers very much."

Joseph Fung:

"I’m very happy because we passed a long winter and this is the tree that all the Vancouverites think ‘wow.’ All around the streets you see cherry blossoms blooming. It makes people happy a sign of spring is coming and there’s a bright future."

Aleshia Mund:

"My uncle and aunt’s wedding, because during the wedding shoot they were in a park similar to this. Around this time too we would shake the trees and the cherry blossoms would fall down and there would be a pretty, springtime feel; you feel fresh."

Brandon Yacyac:

"What comes to mind is spring time. It’s a new beginning because we came from winter. We stayed at home for almost four months and now it’s time to go out and have some fun. ...I think cherry blossoms came from Japan, so it’s a gift from them to us."

Nicky Byres:

"It’s that hopeful moment after the grey winter to see the cherry blossoms. My friends around the world, who are going into fall, love to see the spring blossoms, so I post a lot of pictures for people around the world. They are amazed the cold North has such beautiful flowers!"
