Richmondites may not have much planned for Valentine's Day, but Richmond businesses are determined to help the community celebrate all sorts of love. If you're still on the hunt for ideas for the special day, this list is just the thing to get you started:

1. Enjoy hit love songs from the King of Rock & Roll and support a refugee family

Safe Arms Richmond is holding a charity Valentine's concert featuring an Elvis impersonator this weekend. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from [email protected] or 604 277 5377. Proceeds will fund a Congolese refugee family's first year in Canada.

Date and time: Feb. 12, 2023 (2:30 p.m.)

2. Wine, truffles and romantic movies at Lulu Island Winery

Lulu Island Winery is offering a series of Valentine's events for couples and pals alike. The local winery is offering a truffle-making and wine date package and a showing of Crazy, Stupid, Love this Saturday. For friends who want to celebrate the day together, the winery is also holding a Galentine's Day showing of Clueless. Tickets for the events can be purchased online.

3. Celebrate your baby's first Valentine's with a play date

My Gym in Richmond is holding buddy date for three-month to one-year-old babies with fun songs, games, skills and games on Valentine's Day. The only fee required for the event is "a smile" and the business will also be offering same-day promotions. Reservations for the event can be made online.

4. Laugh your heart out with your loved ones at Monkey 9 Brewing's comedy night

The Comedy Department is holding a comedy night at Monkey 9 Brewing to celebrate and laugh about all things romantic. My Funny Valentine is being held in the evening on Feb. 14 and tickets are $20 plus fees. A three-course dinner for two is also available at $49.

5. A romantic dinner at Ikea

What's more romantic than pre-packed furniture and meatballs? The Swedish furniture giant is offering a special Valentine's dinner at $39.99 that includes three courses and a Nordic Fruit water and mocktail. Alcohol can also be purchased on the side.

6. Buy a delicious bouquet for your loved ones

Steveston Win Win Chick-N's popular fried chicken bouquet is back for another year. Richmondites can pre-order the special set, which includes a bouquet of 12 pieces of fried chicken as well as a personal-size Ube cake.

7. Support local community initiatives with a card to your loved ones

London Drugs is also bringing back its Cards for All collection, which aims to offer cards celebrating all sorts of love and circumstances. All proceeds will be donated to United Way to support community programs. This year, community members are also asked to submit ideas for greeting cards, and they will get compensated if their ideas get chosen.
