Two scheduled power outages in Richmond this week

Several areas in Richmond will experience power outages for BC Hydro maintenance work.

Richmond residents in multiple areas will experience power outages as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work on Dec. 21 and 22.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to the its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” said BC Hydro on its site.

Here is the list of power outages scheduled for this week:

Dec. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rescheduled from Dec.  10)

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 13 customers at:

  • 11160, 11180, 11200, 11220, 11240, 11251 and 11260 Seahurst Rd.
  • 10691, 10700, 10711, 10720, 10740 and 10751 Seaward Crt.

Dec. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A pole replacement will affect seven customers at:

  • 7771, 7791, 7831, 7851, 7811m 7871 and 7891 Sunnymeded Cres

Dec. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect 11 customers at:

  • 4200, 4204, 4208, 4211, 4217, 4220, 4228, 4231, 4237 and 4251 Craigflower Dr.
  • 8951 Craigflower Gate
