A Steveston business is holding a fundraiser to support the staff at Steveston's Super Grocer after it was lost to a fire two weeks ago.

Alex Sagert, owner of Steveston Sound & Stage, is partnering with Steveston United Church to host a community day and fundraiser event on March 2.

There will be musicians and performers including a performance from the local band "Vintage" as well as a kids' activity zone with caricature drawings.

A silent auction and raffle of donated prizes from local Steveston businesses will also take place.

"This event aims to raise funds for the hardworking staff at Super Grocer, who have been tirelessly serving our community," said Sagert.

"Let's unite as a community, celebrate our love for music, and show our appreciation for the Super Grocer staff who play a vital role in keeping our community nourished."

Tickets for the event are going for $11.98 and can be purchased here.

Anyone interested in donating to the silent auction can email Sagert at [email protected]

The event will be held on March 2 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Steveston United Church at 3270 Broadway St., between 2nd and 1st avenues.
