Richmond's McArthurGlen Desiner Outlet is hosting a fall event while collecting donations for the Richmond Food Bank Society.

According to the Richmond Food Bank, there has been an increase of 35 per cent usage by the community and most visitors are Ukraine refugees and families.

"They are registering on average 27 households a week and are asking for most needed items like rice and pasta," according to Ally Day, marketing manager at McArthurGlen Vancouver.

Visitors are encouraged to bring and donate non-perishable food items to support the local food bank until Oct. 23. The donation bin is located outside Food Folk Eatery.

Those who prefer to make monetary donations can do so on the outlet's website.

Meanwhile, the outlet's eateries and restaurants are also offering shoppers deals for the fall season.
