Federal funding to help local charities and non-profits to "adapt and modernize" following the COVID-19 pandemic will soon be open for application.
The Richmond Community Foundation (RCF) announced on Friday morning that it will be working with community foundations across the country to help distribute funding from the Community Services Recovery Fund to local organizations.
The recovery fund is a one-time $400 million federal investment that is open to community service organizations such as non-profits, Indigenous Governing Bodies and registered charities. It is a collaboration between the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada and United Way Centraide Canada, and aims to provide support for organizations adapting to "long-term impacts of the pandemic."
"This is a unique and very exciting funding opportunity, one that will benefit community service organizations of all types and sizes. We hope to see many applications from across Richmond's charitable sector,” said Dave Frank, RCF chair.
The application portal is set to launch on Jan. 6 and will be open until Feb. 21, 2023. More information on how to apply, such as resources and webinars, are available on the Community Services Recovery Fund website.
