Ideas and comments can be shared for a chance to win prizes

Richmond council is considering adopting a "circular economy" policy.

The City of Richmond wants residents to share their creative methods on how they reduce waste.

Residents are invited to share their ideas and thoughts to the city’s Rethink Waste Think Tank to help support a circular economy.

A circular economy is where materials used can stay in circulation and be used, reused or repaired, and recycled multiple times into new products.

Ideas generated will be used to create a Rethink Waste Ideas Hub as a resource for the community and to help others with their goals to reduce waste, says the City of Richmond in a media release.

Questions to think about when sharing ideas include:

  • Do you regularly trade, buy used or repair household items?
  • Do you consider yourself a champion for the environment?
  • Do you get frustrated when you see plastic polluting the ocean and public spaces, causing litter?
  • Do you like to brainstorm ideas and try new ideas?
  • Do you apply creative solutions to reduce waste and save money?
  • Do you encourage friends and family to use reusable items?

Those who wish to contribute can share their thoughts and methods at LetsTalkRichmond.ca until Sunday, Oct. 3 and will be entered for a chance to win prizes.
