Richmond residents are invited to share their ideas and provide feedback as the City of Richmond begins designing the future of West Cambie Park.

The first open house of phase one will take place on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the District Energy Utility Building at West Cambie Park, 9540-9700 Tomicki Avenue.

This drop-in style open house is aimed at receiving and sharing ideas, marking the start of the public consultation process for the six-acre park, which is in the Alexandra neighbourhood.

Those attending the open house are encouraged to review information and potential ideas that will be on display, talk with city park planners, share thoughts and complete the survey.

In addition, from Thursday, Sept. 14 through Sunday, Oct. 1, interested individuals can visit online at LetsTalkRichmond.ca for  current information on the project and from the open house, to download documents and complete the online version of the survey.

Information gathered during the public open house and on LetsTalkRichmond.ca will be used in developing options for the park that will be presented during another stage of public engagement expected to be held during the fall.

All of the input received will inform the final park master plan that will be presented to Richmond City Council for approval in late fall, with park construction expected in 2018 and 2019.

For more information, call the city’s Parks Department at 604-244-1208 or visit Richmond.ca/ParksProjects.
