Pender Harbour-Egmont Highlights: PHMS presents Rick & Nico Rhodes

The Pender Harbour Music Society (PHMS) presents a weekend of family fun and music with Rick Scott & Nico Rhodes with two diverse performances designed to appeal to ages two to 92! April 20, 2 p.m., is the Music and Laughter for All Ages: Family Show One Hour Concert. April 21, 2 p.m. is Roots and Grooves: for Big Folks. Tickets available online at the PHMS website. 

The PH Community Club is holding an AGM on April 21 at the Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. The meeting will follow a potluck dinner. Bring the family! 

Harbourside Friendships, Thursday drop-in program, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the PH Community Hall April 25 is all about fun and games: Rumoli, Scrabble and card games. Lunch will be served at noon for $10 per person. 

Super Saturday is April 27 and with so much happening, here is the scoop on two of the events. More on April Tools next week. 

The Legion’s extremely popular Annual Giant Garage Sale has a call out for donations including household items, kids’ items and sporting equipment. No books, electronics or clothing thank you. This event is a fantastic opportunity to swap and shop with other community members. Donations are accepted April 24 and 25 only. Doors open at 10 a.m. on the 27th, no early birds please. No charge for admission. Proceeds of this fundraiser go to the Generator Fund. 

Our precious Community Hall needs a new roof. Come and support the fundraiser April 27 at the PH Community Club Plant and Vintage Sale. Here are more details. The $5 lunch will be chicken pot pie and salad or vegetarian lasagna and salad, drinks $1 and baked items $2 available all day. Our talented Pender Harbour bakers will have tables loaded with delicious goodies. To donate, volunteer and more info contact Lesley 778-840-1692. 

April 29 The Pender Harbour Garden Club is pleased to present Paddy Wales and Sheila Watkins, long time volunteers who were instrumental in the creation and development of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens. Their presentation “Drought and Deluge” is both informative and timely followed by a question-and-answer period. Complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks provided. Doors open at 12:45 p.m. Meeting begins at 1 p.m. at the School of Music. Annual membership for 2024 is $20. Drop-in fee $5.  

Join in “Celebrating Volunteerism,” April 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hall. Come and view the displays and learn what many of our fine groups accomplish in our community. Enjoy a piece of cake and refreshments.
