Out and About: Doors were open this weekend at 43 Richmond sites

Contributor Grant McMillan called the annual event a 'golden opportunity' to learn about Richmond's cultural mosaic.

Doors opened to enthusiastic visitors at 43 unique venues in our community over the June 8-9 weekend.

A wide range of events and activities were available for exploring and learning at the 17th annual version of Doors Open.

Richmond showcased the multicultural nature of our city, with both public and private organizations welcoming the public.

It was a golden opportunity to learn about the mosaic of cultures that make our city so interesting.

The weather cooperated to make for comfortable outdoor viewing.

This event is part of the Doors Open Canada program.

It is supported by the City of Richmond, the BC Arts Council, the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada.

The event is organized by the Richmond Museum Society.

Many of these organizations are open on a regular basis, year round and welcome visitors. It is worth going online to check their opening hours and days
