Local pickleball enthusiasts recently held a successful "coin drive" in support of Richmond Food Bank.
Members of Richmond BC Pickleball Association (RBCPA) donated $4,669.40 to the food bank yesterday, exceeding the initial fundraising goal of $3,000.
Gordon Farrell, RBCPA spokesperson, told the Richmond News this was the third year of the holiday initiative.
Last year, the RBCPA raised $1,638 in cash donations and 15 boxes of dry goods for the food bank.
This year's donation will go toward supporting reliable refrigeration at the food bank and keep food "fresh and cold" until they are distributed to those in need.
