On Wednesday, June 17, two Grade 7 French Immersion students at Tomekichi Homma elementary in Steveston are hosting a fundraising pancake breakfast in support of Mitchell elementary’s breakfast program.

Simrit Johal and Olivia Cowell, in order to make a difference in their community and with support from their classmates, school staff, the Homma PAC and the E-Rotary of Lulu Island, will provide a healthy, hot breakfast for their school community and neighbourhood, with all proceeds to the Mitchell program.

So far, the girls have raised more than $700 and City Market (Loblaws) has donated all the food. Other local retailers, including Safeway, Save-On and Costco, have pitched in with donations for supplies so that 100 per cent of the money raised will be donated to Mitchell.
