Hockey Day returns to city

Young sports enthusiasts and local community sports organizations are invited to participate in Hockey Day in Richmond on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Young sports enthusiasts and local community sports organizations are invited to participate in Hockey Day in Richmond on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

The event will take place at the Brighouse Lacrosse Box beside Caring Place and will feature four on four ball hockey for all skill levels, with live music.

The Richmond Sockeyes, RCMP with a police cruiser and Richmond Fire Rescue with their truck will be there as well.

Hockey Day in Richmond will also have a variety prizes and a lot of great ball hockey action from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the 7840 Granville Ave. site.

Registration is free and open to individuals and teams. Players must be between the ages 10 to 15. Pre-registration is required. Pay parking is available and some free parking can be found in the surrounding area.

M&M Meats will host a barbecue with food for sale.
