Three scheduled power outages expected in Richmond this week

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

Three areas of Richmond will experience power outages this week as BC Hydro has scheduled repair and replacement work.

BC Hydro plans regular power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

Here are the power outages scheduled for this week:.

June 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect 17 customers at:

  • 10011 No 4 Rd.
  • 9640, 9751, 9771, 9791, 9793, 9800, 9811, 9819, 9831, 9839, 9840, 9844, 9851, 9871, 9879, 9891 Williams Rd.

June 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Pole replacement work will affect less than five customers at:

  • 6960 Sidaway Rd.

June 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Planned work on BC Hydro equipment will affect less than five customers at:

  • 13600 Maycrest Way
