Classic Car Cruise, Santa return to Steveston this weekend

Community members can donate to the Richmond Christmas Fund toy drive and welcome Santa's arrival by boat.

Holiday festivities are heating up in Steveston this weekend with the return of the Christmas Classic Car Cruise and Santa's grand entrance by boat.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, vintage cars decorated by local enthusiasts will be paraded through Steveston during the morning and displayed at Steveston Hotel.

The car cruise will start at 11:45 a.m., beginning and ending at Steveston Hotel. The cars will then be displayed in the parking lot until 1:30 p.m. and community members can donate unwrapped toys or cash for the Richmond Christmas Fund.

Apart from festive classic cars, community members will also get to welcome Santa, who will be arriving by boat at 1 p.m. at Fisherman's Wharf. Santa will pose for free photos inside the Gulf of Georgia Cannery from 2 to 4 p.m.

Horse carriage rides will also be available on Bayview Street from 12 to 4 p.m. Rides are first come, first serve and by donation to the Richmond Christmas Fund, with the suggested donation amount being $10 per person.
