Police are investigating a targeted assault where a woman suffered severe burn injuries in Langley.
A 33-year-old woman was found in the 20300-block of Fraser Highway at 6:35 p.m. on July 12.
When officers found her, she was suffering from severe burns and was immediately transported to the hospital, according to a press release.
Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said it does not appear to be a random act.
“We believe the victim was deliberately exposed to an unknown substance, resulting in serious burns consistent with an intentional act,” said Sharoom in the release.
Police are hoping to speak with people who were in the area at the time or anyone who has dash camera footage.
"We’re urging anyone who may have information about this incident to contact our investigators,” said Sharoom.
