Many iconic personalities were spotted at a popular patisserie’s grand opening in Richmond on Wednesday.
Hy Tea Patisserie is the sister shop to the popular Vancouver café Hy Tea Lounge. Hy Tea Lounge first opened in December 2016 and is known for its afternoon-tea experience and aesthetic location.
Owner Vivian Huang said the new location will primarily focus on pastry, and she is potentially looking at expanding into beauty services.
Celebrities such as Eddy Ko and Chizi, were in attendance at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Wilson Miao, Richmond MP, was also there to show his support.
“After the pandemic, it is not easy to start a new business,” Miao said, “Most of us should support the local business and allow them to thrive”
The Richmond location is at 8171 Ackroyd Rd.
