A French-Japanese-style croissant bakery is opening its second outpost in Richmond.

Renovations are underway for Hazukido bakery which is coming soon to Aberdeen Centre's first floor.

The global bakery chain opened its first Vancouver location in Yaletown last fall and specializes in Japanese croissants.

The core philosophy of Hazukido is to adhere to the "Shokunin spirit of Japan" which essentially means dedicating themselves to the perfect execution of a skill such as creating the folds of buttery croissant dough and exciting flavours for fillings and toppings.

Aside from regular butter and chocolate croissants, the Taiwan-based bakery is known for its savoury-flavoured croissants including salted egg yolk, golden cheese and truffle crab.

The store also offers a drink menu including a variety of coffee and tea.

An opening date has yet to be announced.
