Popular Vancouver tea room opens pop-up at YVR

Fans of Paragon Tea Room will now get to grab a cup of their favourite drinks before jetting off.

A tea room known for its selection of high-quality teas and bubble teas has opened a pop-up at Vancouver International Airport (YVR).

For the next five months, travellers will get to grab a drink from Paragon Tea Room in the Domestic Terminal before heading off on their journeys.

Paragon Tea Room specializes in selling teas from around the world, and according to its website, its teas are brewed using a "Tea'spresso machine" designed to mimic the traditional tea brewing method.

Visitors to its YVR location will get to try an airport-exclusive drink — the ceremonial matcha oat float with matcha oat ice cream from Mister Artisan Ice Cream — as well as customer favourites including the hojicha oat misto.

Pastries and treats by local vendors will also be available for sale.

The tea room's focus on multiculturalism is a nod to the founders' roots in Hong Kong, a city known for being where East meets West.

This is Paragon's second location beside its tea room on Cambie Street in Vancouver and the occasional weekend pop-ups around town.

According to Paragon's post on Instagram stories, the YVR location will remain a pop-up for now "to prove a concept."

"If you want to start your journey with a good cup of matcha/hojicha forever, please spread the (word)," reads the post.

Paragon can be found next to Starbucks in the Domestic Terminal food court before security. It will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the soft launch.
