A pair of brush fires were reported on Highway 91.

Traffic on Highway 91 was temporarily delayed due to sightings of brush fires.

According to a post on social media platform X posted shortly after 12:30 p.m., fire crews are working on putting out a pair of brush fires eastbound on Highway 91 east of No. 7 Road.

Richmond Fire-Rescue assistant deputy chief Grant Wyenberg told the Richmond News crews responded to a report of grass fires in two locations along the highway around 12:30 p.m.

Passersby were able to pull over and extinguish the flames before crews arrived, Wyenberg explained.

"These were very small fires but of course have enormous potential during periods of dry weather," he added.

The cause of the fires is unknown as of now and Fire-Rescue asks the public to report all fires "regardless of their size."
