Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has flagged two more Richmond elementary schools for COVID-19 exposures.

The schools have been listed on the health authority's school exposures webpage.

There were potential exposures from May 5 to 7 at Anderson elementary and from May 6 to 7 at Bridge elementary.

A total of seven Richmond schools have been flagged for exposures since the beginning of this week.

A school exposure occurs when someone with the coronavirus was present in the school during their infectious period, according to VCH.

The health authority reported on its website that it has “not recorded a significant increase in COVID-19 cases among school-aged children relative to other groups” since schools reopened in September 2020.

“Evidence shows children are less likely to get infected with COVID-19, and less likely to experience severe symptoms if infected,” reads the website.
