Vancouver Coastal Health has identified two more Richmond schools for having COVID-19 exposures.

The B.C. health authority listed the schools on its school exposure webpage.

An exposure occurred at Anderson elementary between May 18 and 20.

Meanwhile, another exposure was flagged at Pythagoras Academy, an independent school, on May 17.

Exposures occur when someone with COVID-19 was in the school during their infectious period. However, according to the health authority, in the “vast majority” of cases, there is no transmission of the virus in the school setting.

Earlier this month, Health Canada authorized the Pfizer vaccine for kids between 12 and 15 years old, after the company completed a clinical trial that found it was safe and 100 per cent effective at preventing kids in that age group from getting COVID-19.

Other recent exposures in Richmond include Gilmore elementary (May 11); Cambie secondary (May 12); and Hugh Boyd secondary (May 6 to 7 and May 10 to 14).
