An additional six flights were added to BC Centre of Disease Control's (BCCDC) list of public COVID-19 exposures.

Four domestic and two international flights through B.C. airports were flagged.

The affected flights are:

  • Dec. 30: United Airlines flight 1641, from Denver to Vancouver (affected rows: not reported)
  • Dec. 31: Air Canada flight 103, from Toronto to Vancouver (affected rows: 30 to 35)
  • Dec. 31: Swoop flight 407, from Abbotsford to Toronto (affected rows: 25 to 31)
  • Jan 1: Air Canada flight 305, from Montreal to Vancouver (affected rows: 31 to 36)
  • Jan 2: Air Canada flight 8625, from Winnipeg to Vancouver (affected rows: 18 to 24)
  • Jan 2: Lufthansa flight 492, from Frankfurt to Vancouver (affected rows: 22 to 26)

Passengers seated in the affected rows “should be considered to be at higher risk of exposure due to their proximity to the case,” reads BCCDC’s website.

BCCDC is asking all domestic flight passengers to self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days if they were on a flight with a confirmed case of the COVID-19 as it will no longer be directly notifying passengers seated near a case of the virus.

Travellers arriving in B.C. from outside of Canada are required to complete the federal ArriveCAN application  digitally before entering Canada and must self-isolate for 14 days and monitored for symptoms upon their arrival under the federal Quarantine Act.
