Richmond COVID-19 cases drop - again

BCCDC released its data on Friday, showing Richmond's COVID-19 cases some of the lowest in the region.

The number of new COVID-19 cases detected in Richmond continues to drop. The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) reported Friday there were 54 new cases over the past week (Jan14-21).

This is down from last week’s 69 new cases, and 145 the week before.

The total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Richmond since the beginning of the pandemic is 1,764.

The Richmond daily case rate is the lowest in the Lower Mainland when looking at cases per 100,000 population.

Richmond’s daily rate is between one and five per 100,000 population.

In the meantime, outbreaks continue at Minoru Residence and Fraserview Intermediate Care Lodge – five more residents have died over the past week at the facilities, one at Fraserview and four at Minoru.
