There will be a drop-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Seniors Centre for the Minoru Centre of Active Living this Friday.

The original version of the story stated those 12 and older who haven't received a first dose can attend the clinic. In fact, the clinic is for those aged 55-69 who need a first dose.

Vancouver Coastal Health is expanding vaccination appointment capacity at a Richmond drop-in clinic.

A total of 200 spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis on June 25 at the Seniors Centre at the Minoru Centre for Active Living, at 7191 Granville Ave.

The spaces are open to people aged 55 to 69 who haven’t received a first dose, a VCH spokesperson told the Richmond News, as well as anyone aged 70 or older who needs either a first or second dose.

The clinic will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People attending the clinic should use the west entrance by the cafeteria.

Originally, the drop-in clinic was for seniors aged 65 or older and their caregivers, who hadn’t received their first dose, but the health authority has now expanded capacity.

VCH is also expanding capacity at other drop-in clinics in the region. The health authority said more drop-in spots and locations may be added in the future.

People who don't have personal health numbers or who aren't residents of B.C. are welcome at the clinics, according to VCH. Staff will be available on-site to help people register and book appointments at other clinics throughout the region if needed.

Appointments are available at all other VCH clinics for those now eligible for their second dose. These can be booked through B.C.’s Get Vaccinated system (once people are registered) or call centre.
