More Richmond schools have been flagged for COVID-19 exposures, according to Vancouver Coastal Health.

Vancouver Coastal Health is warning of COVID-19 exposures at two more Richmond schools.

The exposures occurred at Richmond Secondary on May 31 and at Hugh Boyd secondary on May 31 and June 1 to 2.

VCH has listed the exposures on its school exposures webpage.

An exposure occurs when someone with the virus was present in the school during their infectious period, according to the health authority. However, in the “vast majority” of cases there is no transmission in the school setting.

As of June 3, 64 per cent of children 12 and older in Richmond have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s COVID-19 surveillance dashboard.

Other recent school exposures in Richmond occurred at Palmer secondary and Walter Lee elementary on May 27 to 28.
